You may have noticed that I took Friday off.
Thursday I had a girl's afternoon out with Cary and my granddaughters and Friday I had a doctor's appointment.
I don't stress any more if I don't get a post written.
Our outing was to the botanical gardens and what a pleasant surprise to see tulips in bloom.
If I can get my act together this week I will share some photos of our visit. It was a beautiful day.
Spring Home Decor
Perfect with that rustic bench.
What could be a cuter way to think spring than a handmade rabbit atop some pretty spring quilts from Helen Philipps
Now that spring is in the air I can't imagine anything nicer than watching everything green up while enjoying afternoon tea.
Micheala brings spring into her home by switching to lightweight pillows and throws.
A good spring cleaning also helps to freshen your home up.
Seriously, there are so many things I could point out about this kitchen, but I think I will just sit and stare at its perfection for a while.
You can read more about it here.
I have been in a bit of a slow-down mood finding relaxing activities.
Needlepoint is very calming to me. When I sit and focus on the stitches the world seems to recede into the background.
I love this bellflower pillow I am currently working on.
When I finish with this one I will have to pull out my sewing machine and actually sew the two needlepoint pillows I have finished.
They are both floral and will be so pretty in my cottage home.
The other thing I have been focusing on is another puzzle.
Since I have never been to Paris I am enjoying this charming Paris scene.
It is a fun and challenging 1000-piece puzzle and having the tilted board with the sorting drawers has really helped.
Of course, it didn't help when I accidentally turned over one of the drawers and knocked all of the pieces onto the floor.
Remember when you were a kid and played 52 Pickup? Well, this was like 100 piece pickup. Neither of them is fun.
This afternoon I have an appointment at the ENT clinic. I'm trying to catch up on all of my medical appointments.
I hope wherever you are you are getting some spring weather. We have been so fortunate with our warm weather.
Have a great day and I would love for you to check out my Etsy shop where I sell vintage and antique finds along with digital downloads of beautiful antique artwork.

Sounds like things are going well for you. So happy to hear you got out with your daughter and Grands. What a beautiful day for you. I love all of these you shared for Spring decor. One is prettier than the next. Love that pillow you are working on. That is going to be a gorgeous addition for your sweet home. Have a good day Laura. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteThis entire post made my heart sing with happiness and joy! The fact that you're keeping your hands busy makes me smile. Over the past 3 years I've learned how important it is for our well being to keep out hands busy. When we keep out hands busy we produce dopamine and serotonin in our brains that helps us be happy and at peace. I spend so much time stitching by hand i.e. hand embroidery, counted cross stitch, hand applique, crocheting, etc. Yay that you're enjoying needlepoint stitching projects and making a puzzle. Love the table for your puzzle. I have three sewing themed puzzles I'd like to make but no place to put them. (my sewing projects are in the way - LOL) Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! What you're doing Laura is all part of self-care! Take good care! I hope you post more about this type of thing.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you were able to get out with your daughter and grands.. and see some spring flowers! Nothing better to lift the spirit. And I agree.. handwork has always been my "thing" since I was a teen and beyond... whenever I would go anywhere, I always took some knitting or crochet or needlework.. then it became sewing, then paper crafting. I always take something! It does ease the mind and helps us relax and forget about the worrisome things. My favorite needlework was cross stitch, where the colors were imprinted on the canvas. Spring cannot come too soon here! xoxo Marilyn
ReplyDeleteI used to do needlepoint when I was a teenager. I love doing puzzles, and got through early days of Covid lockdown by doing a bunch. Happy Spring, Laura!
