Simple Pleasures #53
I can't believe that it has been eleven months since I wrote this post about the shelf in my bedroom.
I was not happy with the window frame I was using and wanted a change.
After a few months, I took everything off the shelf and I am embarrassed to say it set there naked for several more months.
This past spring while I was out thrifting, I came across a vintage oil painting of a vase of flowers.
I loved it and for $6 it quickly went into my cart.
After bringing it home I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it and so I tucked it behind a dresser.
This past weekend while doing some work on my bedroom I came across it and knew I wanted it to go on that shelf.
items that were up there previously.
I placed the three antique bottles at one end.
So happy that I kept these three for decorating as I have sold most of the bottles that I had and they seem to be harder to find these days.
My little bird was added next.
I love this sweet little bird.
Perfect size for this narrow shelf.
Of course, as we all know final is a relative term.
Simple Inspiration
Gluten-Free Potato Bread
Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you that I love bread.
Okay. I don't like rye bread, but other than that I love bread.
Eating gluten-free threw a spanner into my bread eating, but I never give up finding the perfect bread.
This gluten-free potato bread recipe sounds delicious and I have just the person in mind to bake me a loaf.
You can even use a sweet potato.
What I'm Reading And Watching
With all of the stress in the world I decided that I wanted some stress free cozy mysteries to read and to watch.
Have you found Darby and Joan on Acorn TV yet?
If not you are in for a treat.
Let's Shop
These items have been researched and provided for your shopping convenience.
I am on the hunt for a few things for my apartment.
One of the things I need is a full-length mirror.
As much as I try to avoid looking at my entire body these days I do want to make sure I am presentable when I leave home or that I haven't forgotten anything important like my pants.
My towels never seem to get dry when I hang them on the towel bar so I need some towel hooks.
This Delta towel hook is attractive, inexpensive, and has over 2600 five-star reviews. ( I didn't know that was even possible)
I just ordered this for my pantry. Tired of tripping over things and not being able to see what is in there.
The price is right and I can roll it out to get to things in the back of the closet.
How do things disappear under my bathroom sink?
This should definitely help and maybe I won't buy things that I already have two of.
I am looking for just the right spot to hang it.
Thank you for your visit.
I love that picture you found thrifting. It is gorgeous and the colors against your bedroom wall are amazing. Amazing how a little change up can make such a great impact. Happy Friday.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great find!! I love the colors, they really pop!! Enjoy your new view!!
ReplyDeleteI love the change the painting made...with that nice splash of color! And of course I love birds and old books. I really should update a few things around here. Where to start!!!
ReplyDeleteThe shelf looks great! Isn't it funny how we can look at something for so long, and not know what to do with it, but then all of a sudden, it hits you, and you know exactly what to do? Of course, for some things, it takes me 20 years....but....!
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh out loud about checking to make sure you didn't forget pants! Maybe because I can relate to that fear!?
I'm going to measure to see if those under-sink bins can work for me.
I love everything you put on your shelf! It's very sweet.. love the flower painting. It's so colorful and just perfect. The books look good. And that bread looks awesome, but right now, I'm not even eating grains at all.. I feel SO MUCH better! Marilyn
