Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz said it best.
There's no place like home.
When I walk through the front door of my small apartment I feel that way.
I sift through my collection of record albums, pulling out favorites.
The sounds soothe me as I shut out the outside world.
Sitting in my comfy chair with my feet on my ottoman I look around at all of my "treasures" and think about when and from where they came into my life.
Some transport me back to childhood.
Others remind me of thrifting adventures.
They each have a special meaning.
Sitting in my home with a cup of tea listening to my favorite music may be simple, but it's the simple pleasures that matter.

I think it's so important that our homes feel welcoming when we walk in the door! I like a lot of things around me but not clutter. You home is beautiful with your collected things. I put that robe on my wish list. Let me know if you have one and what size you got. That's the only thing that holds me back....getting the right size! Hugs!

ReplyDeleteI totally agree! Home is the best place to be! I may be gone a few days somewhere, but I ALWAYS look forward to coming back to my sweet, comfortable, cozy home. I can see why you love your home so much. I do what you do.. sometimes I just walk around and look at my "things" that bring back lovely or bittersweet memories.. and I'm glad for every memory I have! Take care... Marilyn
