Keeping Busy
I have been on a tear the last few days.
Friday I went to a park and walked.
Saturday I cleaned my living room and kitchen and then mopped my hall and kitchen floors.
Sunday I drove six miles to the Wellness Center and walked the track.
Monday I woke up, washed the pile of dishes in my sink, and cleaned my bathroom from top to bottom.
Tuesday I tried to figure out where all of this activity was coming from.
A Season Of Discontent
I think all of this activity has stemmed from being in a season of discontent.
I'm wondering if I am at a crossroads.
Last week I spent some time thinking about my current situation.
I like my apartment, but I am not happy with its location.
There is a sister complex in Decatur Georgia that I would like to move to.
Location Is Everything
The apartments are not better than the one I am in.
The building is not better.
What is better is the location.
It is two blocks from downtown Decatur, which I love.
The neighborhood is great for walking.
It is 3 1/2 blocks from my primary care doctor.
It is five minutes from the Wellness Center where I like to walk and take exercise classes.
The thrift store that I go to each week is there.
Decatur is like living in a small town and in the city.
When I drove over there on Sunday it was a hub of activity.
It felt more like home to me.
Oh Laura I am praying for you to be able to get an application in soon and can get into the new place. They told my mom this and when the application process opened she got her application in and they called her in two weeks with an opening. So sometimes things can move more quickly. Keeping prayers and good vibes this might happen for you sooner instead of later. Decatur sounds like a great place to live.
ReplyDeleteI love Decatur - my brother went to Emory there. So much going on in the way of culture, music and shopping. I hope you can make it happen. But it's sure hard to be patient. Not once in my many years has life been on same timetable as me. Builds character they say. Uggh.
ReplyDeleteVery Nice
ReplyDeleteThanks
It sounds like a great place to live. Keep checking - you never know how quickly things can move. It's like being told there's a 45 minute wait for a table, but then they seat you in 5 minutes! Fingers crossed for you!
