Simple Pleasures #29
I love the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and for my birthday my daughter, Cary, my son-in-law, and grandchildren gave me a membership.
They knew I was looking for a place to walk that is safe and beautiful.
It is less than 20 minutes from me and I can go as often as I like.
When you walk into the orchid house it is like walking into a tropical paradise.
Although it was a beautiful warm day when I went on Wednesday it is a place that brings summer into your life no matter the weather outside.
I really needed the walk there this week because I have been feeling anything but simple and serene.
With everything that is going on in the world and the continuing pandemic, I have just wanted to stay in my safe apartment.
I was so glad that I was able to work through the anxiety and make myself get out.
Listening to the sounds of the tropical frogs and walking along the paths definitely eased my troubled soul.
By the time I left, I was feeling much calmer.

It promises that the chicken will fall off the bone and the rice will be buttery, tender, and fluffy.
Good Morning Laura. Happy Friday. I use Olaplex and it is a great shampoo and conditioner. Love the pretty orchids. Have a great day and weekend. xoxo Kris
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place to go and walk! I bet it smells wonderful too! Those recipes sound yummy... I'll try those cookies one of these days for sure as I love lemon. Going to go check out the yoga mat also, as I do stretches in my living room and though I usually throw down a blanket, a mat would be nice! Have a great weekend! Is warm and sunny here.. I think our cold snap is over for now. xoxo Marilyn
ReplyDeleteWell, it sounds like you had a lovely birthday walk at the Orchid House. Beautiful flowers and thanks for the resources. I've just opened two articles to read and that lemon cookie recipe. I think we could all use a little lemon lift right about now. xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect gift, and that fact that you can go as often as you want makes it the gift that keeps on giving!
