One of the dilemmas we face when moving to a smaller space is what to do with the things we love and can't bear to get rid of.
We all have decorative items and books that and those things take up precious space.
That is when a bookshelf can really be the answer.
Bookcases tend to draw the eye upward and can be customized to fit any decor.
A fabric lining really adds punch to this custom piece.

Bookshelves, which can be used to frame a window can either be built-in or can give the appearance of built-ins.
Bookshelves don't have to be used strictly for books. I love them in a bathroom. (I'm sort of coveting that shower curtain)
There are so many styles of bookshelves.
ladder style
industrial style
tree style
retro cabinet style
corner style
Do you have creative ways that you use bookshelves in your home?

Laura these are wonderful ideas. I love that stackable book holder by the bed. That is pretty cool. Happy Wednesday. xoxo Kris
ReplyDeleteI have a charming built in bookshelf in our living room. It's filled with treasures and I love peeking at them every now and then.
ReplyDeleteWonderful ideas for bookcases. I love the idea of adding paper or fabric. We are having a little chilly weather this week. Next week, it will warm up again. Happy Wednesday. xo Linda
ReplyDeleteI love the use of shelves too! They are so necessary. My craftroom has bookshelves wall to wall just about. There's a little wall space in between but not much! They are totally full of craft supplies, papers, fabric and notebooks. I have one in one of my bathrooms also, which I use for towels and a few trinkets that bring me joy. My living room has a bookshelf also, plus a hutch in the dining room that is all shelves which I love! Can't do without them! Marilyn
ReplyDeleteBookcases and shelves are my best friends! I love how you can swap out the items in them and make them look totally different.
