I used to feel like I was an organized person, but in recent years I feel more like I am on a treadmill that is going faster and faster and I am going to get thrown off and land on the floor.
Full disclosure this did actually happen to me once. Just another one of those embarrassing moments in my life.
Priorities
I don't normally pick a word of the year, but I think this year mine will be priorities.
I feel myself being pushed and pulled in so many directions and not being able to accomplish the things I need and want to do.
Of course my first priorities are always my family and my health, but what I am talking about are business priorities.
Over the last nine months or so I have been testing the waters on different things.
I have ramped up my blog, become an influencer, and started adding vintage digital downloads to my Etsy shop.
Now I need to start thinking about setting priorities.
Making A Plan
I have had my Etsy vintage shop for quite a while now so I am pretty comfortable with the ins and outs of running it.
My concern is that although I am able to still source, sell, and ship physical items I realistically know that at some point I may not be able to do that.
That is why this fall I dragged out my huge box of vintage prints and decided to learn how to turn them into digital downloads.
Believe me when I say it has been a steep learning curve, but I am finally getting the hang of it and starting to sell a few.
I currently have about 80 digital listings and I am adding more each day.
As for the affiliate links I have to admit that they have not done nearly as well as I had hoped.
I know that a big reason is my blog's traffic. I can't seem to increase it and I will have to decide if it is worth all of the time I am devoting to it.
I plan to give it a few more months and then make some decisions.
We are living in uncertain times, but it doesn't seem like things are going to change much in the near future.
Priorities will be on my mind and decisions will be made. Hopefully there will be signs to help me.
Priorities is a great word and a great start to the new year. Happy Wednesday. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI like your idea about the digital prints! And I always feel like I have trouble with priorities, especially at the end of the day. I wonder if I did the things I needed to do along with things I WANT to do! Usually I feel like I could do better! lol Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI definitely have to get my TO DO list going again. It is the best way for me to deal with priorities and actually accomplish things. First off for me is taxes. ugh. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI am a big "list" person. Yes, it helps me remember what I need to do but it doesn't mean that I succeed at setting priorities. You seem to be doing a good job of zeroing in on what your priorities are. I've been at that point many times when I question whether to stick with my blog, as it is so time consuming, so I get where you're coming from on that one. I enjoy your blog, and would be sad to see it end, but you have to be true to your priorities.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your priorities.
