Simple Pleasures #10
Aren't pets wonderful? They give us so much love and joy. I don't currently have a pet of my own, but I do have a granddog and a grandcat.
My granddog is Winky. She is a chorkie that my daughter, Cary, and her family rescued. They always adopt rescue dogs.
Winky loves me and is always so excited to see me. If she could jump high enough to get into my arms, she would.
This is Winky
Katy has a cat named Tula who was a feral kitten that was rescued. I don't see much of Tula because I have a bad cat allergy and I haven't been able to go inside Katy's home since the beginning of the pandemic.
This is not Tula
I could go up to the window to interact with her, but believe me when I say that she would completely ignore me. She has much better things to do than give me her time.
Simple Inspiration
Adopt a Pet has animals from over 17,000 animal shelters and rescues that are waiting for a loving home.
PetKeen covers all kinds of pets — cats, dogs, fish, birds, and reptiles — and offers tips on everything from building hamster cages (surprisingly easy) to whether your guinea pig can eat broccoli (yes, but in small amounts).
Writer Roxanne Hawn founded the Champion Of My Heart Blog back in 2007. She calls it a “real-time canine memoir,” and focuses on her rescue dogs, Clover Lee and Tori Autumn, plus trends in the dog world and discussions of veterinary medicine.

I like that it is simple and doesn't require a lot of ingredients. That always works for me.
While we are on the topic of eggplant casseroles, if you have never tried my favorite Eggplant Tomato Casserole you will definitely want to.
I have been cooking from this cookbook for as long as I can remember. Okay, a lot longer than that, because sometimes I can't remember what I ate yesterday.

What I'm Watching
This week two of my favorite shows are back on PBS. Grantchester and Call the Midwife have new seasons just in time for cozy Sunday nights at home.
I don't know about you, but the weeks are flying by. It seems like every time I turn around it is Friday again.
I hope you have a great weekend. Thanks for visiting today.
That dog is super adorable! I don't think I could be happy without pets. They are such great company.

Your grand doggie is super cute. What a sweetie. I really thought after our last basset hound left us I would never get another dog. That lasted all of two months before Terry and I felt the house just was not the same without a dog. Our last three dogs have been rescues and they are the best dogs ever! Life in a condo would be easier without Buddy but life would not be right and he gives us such love. Happy Friday Have a good weekend. xoxo Kris
ReplyDeleteYour post is just full of good information. I saved the Pet Rescue address for future. I'm in a food rut and will try the eggplant recipes now that it's cooler.
