Have you started preparing for the holidays yet?
Isn't it wonderful that many families who were not able to be together last year will be able to spend the holidays with their loved ones this year.
I love the beauty of fall as it leads up to Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The leaves have barely started to change here this year, but I am thinking they may be at their peak on Thanksgiving day. That would be perfect.
Thanksgiving Preparations
Thanksgiving will be here before we know it, and it is one of my favorite holidays.
I love getting together with my family and sharing a meal that we all contribute to.
This year we will be eating out on my daughter Cary's new deck. We stay outside to keep Katy safe, and I know we will all enjoy it. Cary said they have ordered a new firepit that will help to keep us warm.
Not sure which fire pit they ordered, but there are some great ones on Wayfair.
Christmas Preparations
I am already thinking about decorating for Christmas and I will be bringing out my Christmas decor in mid-November.
Yes, I am decorating earlier, but it is a lot of work even in my small apartment and I want to enjoy it for as long as possible.
Christmas decorations always give me a feeling of peace and serenity in my home.
Katy and I were talking yesterday and saying how we wish Christmas was in January because it is so hard to get through January and February when the weather is cold and gloomy.
Did you know that Wayfair has its artificial Christmas trees on sale right now?
I am thinking about getting this tree. Even though I do have one smallish tree I want a taller tree, but I don't have much space.
I like the idea of putting white lights on it and leaving it up through the winter.
My mind is definitely in planning mode, but I need to think about getting out my fall clothes first. That's a chore I do not like.
Are you making plans for the upcoming holidays? Will you be doing anything special this year?
I vote for Christmas in January! Have a great week, Laura.
ReplyDeleteI wish Thanksgiving and Christmas were not so close together too. I start my decor in early November too. I love to enjoy it as long as I can. Love the twinkle of the tree lights. Happy New Week. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanksgiving and Christmas is not on my radar yet. Since I never go anywhere during the holidays, I'm not surprised. But I know how much you enjoy your tree. Put it up whenever you feel the urge as a treat to yourself.

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. I'm hoping this year, we will be with our cousins. I don't celebrate Christmas, so no decor prep here. I did notice the cutest wall-hanging Christmas tree (at Grandin Road, I think?) that was great for small spaces. I say put your decor out as early as you want, and leave it up as long as you want to, if it makes you happy!
ReplyDeleteWe love the holidays but we spend them quietly. I like to plan special meals and decorate some though. I'm concerned about you! I haven't heard from you this week. Are you better? Did you get over the virus you had and back to normal? Let me know! Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteThe holidays always give me a happy and warm feeling, so I'm excited. Of course once January rolls around, I'm eager for summer to return!
ReplyDeleteI love this time of year. Baking and cooking us a must for me
