I decided to do things a bit differently for Friday Favorite Finds. I'm always finding new blogs to read, new places to shop, and other fun things when I am perusing the web, but I never seem to find a way to share them.
With that in mind, I am shaking things up.
The first thing I want to share is the new to me antique cabinet I found. I have been looking for a piece of furniture for several weeks, with no luck but when I walked into the thrift store yesterday, there it was.
Look at all of that nice bare wall space above it. I will share what I do with that in another post.
New Lovely Reads
Have you all looked at my Lovely Reads page? I am always finding wonderful blogs to read and I am adding them to the page as I find them.
I'm sure that many of you know Kim at Exquisitely Unremarkable. She has great home decor and DIY tips, so if you haven't visited her yet or in a while you will definitely want to do so.
Do you know Ms. Toody Goo Shoes? She loves to travel and share it all with us. I will be living vicariously through her from now on.
Home Decor
You may have noticed the vintage brass candlestick lamp on the new to me antique cabinet. I bought the pair of them in 1980 and they are still beautiful with their original black shades.
Shop for a similar lamp.
I have a definite weakness for beautiful vintage and antique plates and although I do sell many of them in my Etsy shop I also have a large collection of my own.
I hate hiding them away in cupboards so I display them on shelves and hang them on my walls.
Plate hangers always seemed to be expensive, but I found this pack of ten plate hangers at a reasonable price.
Another thing that I collect and love is baskets. When you live in a small space baskets make a great storage solution.
In my bathroom, this vintage wicker laundry basket holds extra towels.

TV Watching and Reading
I have to admit that I am an Olympics junkie. I love all of the sports, but when I am not watching the Olympics, I watch season five of The Heart Guy on Acorn TV.
It's hilarious, and it doesn't hurt that he is pretty easy on the eyes.
I have to confess that I get most of my books from the library, because I just don't have space for a lot of books and because I can't afford to buy many books.
There is one book that I treat myself to each year and that is the new Louise Penny Inspector Gamache mystery.
This year's Book, The Madness of Crowds, will be out on August 24 and I have preordered mine.

I love Louise Penny and this series. I have my hold for the book when it comes to the library as in ebook! I can't wait!
