Blue, blue my world is blue, and I couldn't be happier than I am since I came across this fabulous farmhouse in Dorset England.

After doubling the size of the house and a restoration the owners have lovingly decorated it using a blue color scheme.

Kitchen

The walls of the kitchen, which are a gray painted lime plaster, are set off against blue painted cabinets. I remember painting the cabinets in my first apartment a similar color.

I love the farmhouse sink, and the aged brass faucet and door handles.

Sitting Room

The walls of the sitting room have been painted a deep blue, giving the room a cozy feel in the evening when the fire is lit.

The furniture and accessories are done in coordinating shades of blue.

Bedroom

Set against neutral walls and a classic sleigh bed bedding is done in vibrant geometric blue patterns.

Dining Area

The dining area, which was moved out of the original sitting area is one of the owner's favorite spots. The exposed brick wall and old patio flooring give the illusion of eating outdoors.

Which is your favorite room? I love all of them and could move right in.

  1. Blue seems to be the color of the moment. All shades of blue. I love the way they've turned the old door handles the other way. Typically see them placed horizontally so this gives the kitchen additional character.
