CUTE LITTLE CHAIR AND BUILDING AN ARK

Monday, March 9, 2020

While we actually had a brief period of sun I was able to take a few photos in my home. I have been wanting to share this cute little painted child's chair that I thrifted for $2 a couple of weeks ago.

I love these little old wood chairs with their chippy paint, but I have always eventually sold them.
When I brought this one home I decided I might just have the perfect spot for it in my bedroom.

I love it and who knows I may just keep it.

Now let's get down to some serious business. Yesterday when I checked the weather on my phone this is what I saw.

Excuse me, but SERIOUSLY?!?!
This leaves me with no alternative but to build an ark. Between the recommendation from the CDC that people over 60 should limit the amount of time they leave their homes and the fact that I am sick of going out in the rain, it looks like I am going to have a lot of time on my hands at home.
I figure there is nothing for it, but to build an ark in my living room.
Complete instructions here

This is the condensed version of how to build an ark.
To build an ark, start by getting over 100,000 square feet of cypress wood to build the hull, the decks, the roof, and the flooring. Once you have all of the wood, build the hull of the ark and add the flooring so there's a lower, middle, and upper deck.
When I got out my pad and pencil to make my list of needed supplies and looked around my living room I decided that maybe I should scale down a bit.
Do coffee tables float? Asking for a friend.

  1. What a good idea to use the little kid's chair for a plant stand, Laura. Loved that. It looks so nice. Well, hope you keep dry and cozy in your apartment this week. Susan

  2. LOL Laura you not only have to stay inside to stay away from the virus but now you might float away if you go outside! Love the little chair I think you should keep it. It looks perfect with the pretty potted plant. Sounds like a good week to stay home and read, watch some good TV and just be cozy at home.

  3. You're so funny! It's been raining here a bit since yesterday. I was going to say put a plant in your little chair but as I scrolled down I saw you already had done that.

  4. I love the cute little blue chair! Hope you keep it as looks perfect with the plant where you have it. I had one that I kept for YEARS that was mine and my older sister's when we were little... but eventually I sold it and now I regret it so much. Alot of history there...... Sorry you are getting all that rain. We get rain maybe once a month (or less) for a couple of hours and then it's gone. I miss a little more rain, but not every day! Yup... ark building may be your new profession! Stay dry inside and start on your next year's Christmas cards maybe?? hee hee... Hugs.. Marilyn
