Not this girl.
If you have been a reader for awhile, you know that I have been selling vintage and antiques online for many years.
I started out on Ebay in the 90's when I was in graduate school. Ebay had just started and it was a good way to earn some extra cash for my daughter and myself. After I finished graduate school and was employed full time I cut back and eventually stopped selling.
Fast forward a few years and Etsy was born. My love for all things vintage had never left, and I wanted to dip my toes back into selling. Also I had left my job and needed the income again. So when I moved back to Kentucky I got into it on more of a full time basis.
Over the next few years I needed both of my knees replaced, which slowed me down somewhat, and then last year I pretty much stopped everything while my mom was ill and then passed away.
I am now once again selling on both Ebay (here), Etsy (here), and also on Instagram (here).
My mom loved fashion and she had an immense amount of costume jewelry, which is now in my possession and I need to sale. Also, while I am out scouring for vintage goods I see some really great clothes. I have never sold fashion before, but decided I would give it a try.
My daughter suggested Poshmark. She sells as @kaitlynwalk on there. So this past week I decided to start my own Poshmark closet @415maxwell. I have added a widget to my sidebar so you can check us both out. I will be adding new items daily.
I love trying new things. There is of course always a learning curve, but that is half the fun.

How's that for a new endeavor?
Laura, I think that is interesting. I will wish you much luck. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Laura! Wishing you the best!

Laura, that sounds overwhelming to me, but I'm sure you can handle it! And have fun with it!
ReplyDeleteIs always fun to try new things online! I love it! It's fun selling online (I also have an Etsy shop) and I've thought often of putting my things on some other sites too. I checked out Poshmark and looks like a ton of fun! As Brenda said, "You go Girl"!!! I'd like to try Facebook Marketplace if I knew how to go about it. Sometimes, it just takes alot of time and research to find out about new selling venues. Congrats for getting another one up and going! Marilyn
ReplyDeleteA question I forgot to ask you... didn't know you could sell on Instagram! I went and checked you out there! How are you doing using IG for selling? Just curious as would be another venue for me. I do have IG account, just don't go there very much, but if I could sell on it? That would be awesome! you could email me at pinkpapercottage@yahoo.com Thanks! Marilyn
ReplyDeleteGood for you Laura. You never seem to be afraid of trying new things. I wish you nothing but great luck.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your week
Cindy
