I was going to show you my finished front entry, but I wasn't up to standing on my head or hanging from chandeliers (no I don't have one) in order to get even one decent photo. So that will have to wait for another day.
Instead, I am going to show you one area of my living room.
I talked about this photo on Instagram today, so bear with me if you have already seen it.
I love this because it is a combination of vintage and family things. Well, the terrarium isn't vintage or family, but you know how much I love plants and my daughter's in-laws gave it to me. They are certainly extended family.
sorry, the sunlight was not cooperating today with my photos. |
Ummm, you cannot imagine what I took out of there that day and there was still a lot left.
I love this beautiful Red Cliff soup tureen, I purchased it at an auction a few years ago for a song and I just didn't want to part with it.
The fabulous mid century Blue Mountain Pottery vases were my parents. They purchased them in the 1960s when we were living in Canada.
I've hung two prints that belonged to my mother to finish it off. It is an eclectic mix of eras and styles, but it all works for me.
There is something about being surrounded by family things that brings me comfort and a sense of serenity.
Laura, I think it all looks great together, because it means something to you and you love it. I once read , about decorating, if you love it make it work. I know the things your mom had mean so much. I like the framed prints. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

I like the mixed areas. Boy, would I love it if someone said I could go up in the attic and take what I wanted! Yes, I know all about taking photos in an apartment. And I don't have a lot of light.
