Life has gotten to be anything but simple and serene with this move. It seems that when you look away for a bit, problems seem to mount up, as if they are just waiting for you to lose your focus so they can sneak in and disrupt the flow you have worked so hard to create.
Today I will work to recapture that flow and to get rid of the dust and cobwebs. I am making my list. There are phone calls to be made, items to be photographed and listed in my shop, blogs to visit, advertisers to catch up with, an auction to attend, and most importantly of all a Facetime date with my grandchildren this afternoon.
It will be a busy day, but it feels good to be getting back to my life today. No matter how much we love our families and want to help them, we have to remember to take care of ourselves too.
Have a good day as you tend to your own life.
ReplyDeleteTHank you, Lorrie. Lots to catch up on.
Deleteglad you've gotten your mother moved. 'settling in' will come, too.
ReplyDeleteIt's a relief to have her moved and see her happy.
DeleteAre those blueberries? Or grapes? Sit awhile and eat some! :) Such a pretty spot there : )
ReplyDeleteOh sweet lady, take care of you now! You deserve some special time and some R&R! It'll all be okay.
ReplyDeleteRest up, take care of yourself and you'll feel more grounded in no time.

So true Laura! I am hoping for a few days at home to work on getting my home back in shape after the rough couple of weeks I've had. It is so true, you do have to remember to take time for yourself in the midst of taking care of loved one's. I've got a gift certificate with my name on it for a massage and pedicure at a local spa! It's from last years birthday and I am going to FINALLY use it!!

congrats on getting mom moved. Enjoy some quality time with yourself. :)
ReplyDeleteYour mother is blessed to have your help, but you need to have some time to get things done for yourself, too. Not to mention getting rested up. Hope you have a nice day and weekend, too!
ReplyDeleteYou do so much for your family! I know they appreciate it all too. Have a wonderful holiday weekend my friend. Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteWelcome home, honey! lol Glad you got your Mom all settled-now it is time to get some ME time...and get things back in order. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYes, it's hard to keep the focus that if caregivers stop care giving for themselves, there will be no one too look after the care givees. It's important.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a peaceful and lots of time for regrouping of soul and mind.
Best...
Brenda

Hi Laura....Glad you are carving out a little time for you! Susan
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you got your mother moved and settled. It's amazing the amount of 'dust' that gathers when we are otherwise engaged with life's issues. All the best to you in your 'cleaning'. Enjoy the holiday weekend.

That moment when you finally get to sit back and reflect...knowing that you have done all you can for the day. That's yours now. Glad to hear that your Mom is settled, and I hope that she makes lots of good friends there.

I understand. It's definitely hard to juggle a lot of balls in the air at one time. I hope this weekend will bring you the time you need to feel more organized and refreshed.
ReplyDeleteSo true Laura when life happens sometimes it is consuming. Glad your mom got all moved in and you are taking a day or two to yourself. I helped my daughter and SIL move into their new home a week ago and I understand the yelling of those muscles that you did not even know you had lol! Enjoy the holiday week end.

We are both on the same wave length in our lives....take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteSounds like your life is very hectic and stressful right now. I hope you also get a chance to relax and just "be"!
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how fast our lives can get out of control. I hope you get things in order soon, and feel relaxed again :)
