Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer.... Yes, I know that summer is over in a couple of days, but you know what they say about "it ain't over til the fat lady sings". Maybe not the best of sayings, but it was the only one I could come up with on short notice. The short notice being that I put off writing my post until the last minute. Today I am reminiscing about summer. Summer seemed to fly by, but I still have some great memories. Baskets of fresh fruit. YUM!!!
Beautiful flowers
and fields of more beautiful flowers
Exploring my state
Revisiting my past
and planning my future. A future where I hope to spend a whole lot more time with this crazy threesome.
This a great post and I am already missing summer. I do hope that soon you will be able to spend more time with that wonderful troop of kids! Have a great weekend-xoDiana
It's hard to believe that summer is almost gone. It's also hard to believe that this much of 2014 is over. Our summer has been a quiet one but enjoyable.
Oh your grandchildren are just precious. I so enjoyed this summer with my one son and his family that moved back to our town last August. My best memories will have to be when all six of my grands were together. I love watching them. My flowers still look good, well my impatients, but things are looking like fall. I love fall and winter so it's ok. I hope you do get more time with those cuties. hugs
Those peaches look yummy. I guess the best part of my summer was going to Ohio to visit family. Love the countryside of central Ohio and the weather was perfect.
Ah, Laura ........On this last official weekend of summer, how nice of you to ask.
I remember being so glad for warmer weather after an unusually hard southern winter, pleasure in first planting dormant pots and beds, awe at a super moon, serene evenings on the porch watching fireflies, delight of discovering baby fish in the pond and a wacky fun-filled week with my girls. Mostly I remember this as the summer of an abundance of dragonflies in a multitude of colors.
this is the summer I decided we really needed to eat more veggies and we did! Every other day I was at the farmer's market buying fresh anything and loving it. I am going to miss all those fresh summer vegetables! Hope you are feeling better Laura.

I'm Laura. Welcome to Simple and Serene Living. I've worn many hats in my life on this fabulous planet; daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. This space is one of my favorite hats.
My flowers are telling me summer is over, whether I want it to be or not. Your photos show that your summer was a good one!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Vicki. My summer was a good one. Hope yours was, too.
ReplyDeleteIt was great revisiting your summer! I always hate to see it go but fall is a wonderful time as well! Your grand kids are precious! :)
